Description
This coatee is an example of a regulation uniform jacket prescribed for field-grade officers serving in South Carolina’s militia between 1839 and 1861. The jacket was sent from Captain Percival Drayton to Admiral Samuel Francis du Pont as part of variety of captured military equipment and supplies from a raid at Rockville, South Carolina, on December 17, 1861.
