Description
Early view of Eleutherian Mills which was the location for the 1802 DuPont Company's first gunpowder mills in America. This site is currently operated as Hagley Museum and Library.
The artist was Elèuthere Irénée du Pont's brother-in-law Joseph Charles Dalmas. It includes both the gunpowder mills along the Brandywine and the du Pont family home in the upper left corner.
