Description
L. F. Wheaton's patent "relates to an improvement in a common dust-pan, the object being to avoid the necessity of stooping to hold the pan while brushing dust or dirt thereon; and consists in constructing the pan with several points near its rear or handle-end, which, while they raise that end of the pan into about the position it will be hold by the sweeper, the points resting upon the carpet hold the pan so firmly that the dust or dirt my be swept thereon in the usual manner, without moving the pan." (Patent Number 78,406)
