This improved sad-iron heater "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of a sheet-metal heating-plate pivoted at one end to the lamp-case or heater proper, and provided at its other end with a transverse shouldered supporting-flange, whereby the said plate is held free from the heater, and a space is formed between them, through which heat will come in direct contact with the edges of the sad-iron."
