Description
Tregurtha was a British citizen residing in Boston when he received this patent. His improvement is to a machine in which "a composition is spread automatically upon a suitable fabric." The composition was "a solution of rubber and gutta-percha, or rubber alone, suitably dissolved in naptha or any other suitable solvent and mixed with zinc-white, bone-black, or any other desirable earthy or mineral matter, colored or not..." (Patent Number 231,692)
