"The object of my invention is to provide a cheap and easily applied hat-holding device for use in theaters, churches, railroad-cars, &c.; and it consists in a metal or other suitable strip, bent into a proper shape and having holes in it to attach it, and provided beneath its handle with a spring which bears against the chair or seat to which the holder is attached..."
