"Be it known that I, Alexander Dick, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Cradle of Improved Form and Action, by which the child may be gently swung in every possible direction, or tossed vertically, is peculiarly adapted to the use of drapery, and the employment of clock-work as a motive power..."
