Description
Skinner's patent provides "an improved machine for making drains and water-pipes, and consists of a stationary cylinder, in which a core is placed. A follower, attached to a piston-head, moves up and down around the stationary core, passing through slots in a centre-block. A closely-fitting packing-ring is placed around the core, and slides up and down upon it by the action of the piston or follower." (Patent Number 77,925)
