Description
Allen's "new and Improved Self-Adjusting Opera-Seat" patent consists of a seat constructed, hung, and adjusted as he describes in the patent enables it "to retain the vertical position when not in use, whether by means of the weight or spring or sliding back connected and supported by means of the shafts... or pins or other analogous devices for the connection and support of the seats." (Patent Number 12,017)
