Baker's patent "relates to that class of devices known as cots or bedsteads, and consists of the construction and combination of certain parts..." Her improvements include "the legs...united together by the cross-bars...which are provided with a series of hooks, in combination with the sacking... and its metallic end-collections and the bar..." (Patent Number 105,885)
