Description
Gundorph's patent is "an improvement for a pin-jewel holder for setting the ruby-pin in the roller or disk on the shaft of the balance-wheel in watches..." The object of his invention "is to secure a means for setting a ruby-pin in a balance-disk in a more perfect manner than hitherto, so that the said pin shall be parallel to the axis of the balance-shaft, and the plane face of same perfectly tangent to the circle of oscillation of the balance." (Patent Number 252,660)
