Description
Marshall's patent "is a device for supporting in a horizontal position the cover and leaves of an open book, and for holding down said leaves upon the cover, so that they may not spring back upon the unopened body of leaves. The device may also be used for elevating the upper end of the book, so that the pages may have an inclined position in respect to the reader or person making entries therein." (Patent Number 192,177)
