Description
Burke's patent "consists in the formation of a single sheath or band for the insertion of the ends of the wooden part of the stirrup, and the placing of the stirrup-leather bearer transversely to the face of the stirrup, permitting it to hang in a natural position for the insertion of the foot of the rider without twisting it into position." (Patent Number 202,926)
