Foster's patent "has relation to an improvement in 'clothes-rubbers,' and consists in the novel arrangement and construction of a corrugated block of wood, gutta-percha, rubber, or other material with elastic straps, which is intended to serve as an efficient implement to assist in rubbing clothes by hand."
