Description
Emerson's patent improvements "consist in a bearing-plate, having spindles or axes upon which the intermediate gears revolve, and a curved slot for the reception of the journal of the lower roller at the gear-end, together with a hook or projection for preventing the lower roller from rising, when in operation, by its gear 'climbing' the intermediate gear." (Patent Number 83,480)
