Description
Stratton's patent is "a machine called a Portable Drying-Rack, for the drying of yeast-cakes..." It "consists in a portable rack or frame for the holding and drying of yeast-cakes, in such a manner that they will dry rapidly and evenly in a shorter space of time than by any other method in use." (Patent Number 158,540)
Stratton and his twin brother operated the Waterloo Yeast Company in New York which manufactured their popular Twin Brothers brand yeast.
