Description
Stran's patent is "a new and useful Improvement in Combinations and Arrangements of Machinery for the Purpose of Ringing Bells..." "The utility of this arrangement for ringing bells is apparent from many considerations, a few of which may be mentioned. It enables one man to ring the largest of bells, with more ease and precision than any number could on the old plan. It prevents the jarring and injury of buildings and the falling and breaking of bells, &c. " (Patent Number 9,081)
