Description
Mary Hildreth's patent "has relation to means for holding, against endwise displacement, a guard-holder on the handle of a sad-iron. The novelty consists in a transverse locking device passing through the guard-holder and engaging with the handle of a sad-iron, whereby the said guard-holder is prevented from endwise displacement when the said sad-iron is passed, in the act of ironing, to and fro over a garment or other article..."
