Description
Smith and Cheever's invention consists "in an adjustable plate, provided with braces having transverse lugs or ears working in slots or rabbets formed in the under edge of the bottom-plate, to which bottom-plate is attached at right angles thereto, forming the end of the file. The adjustable plate slides over the bottom plate, and holds the papers against the end-plate, and is held in position by means of the transverse lugs or cars, which catch against the under side of the bottom-plate..."
