Cooper's invention "consists in the arrangement of an elastic loop or spring, which is attached at one end to a hook formed on the inner surface of the roller-bracket of a curtain-fixture, while ots other end is secured to a pin or screw, which also serves to guide and retain the bracket in position, in such a manner that the strain of the elastic loop or spring keep the cord, by means of which the curtain is operated, taut, and at a uniform tension..."
