Description
Curry stated in his patent application, “The object of my invention is to make an easy reclining-chair, suitable for railroad-cars, to be simply worked by one movement of the hand.” This would be accomplished using lever attachements on the top and bottom of the chair so that in one movement the chair would recline or move upright and the foot-rest would project forward or withdraw underneath the chair. (Patent Number 109,808)
