Description
The objective of Cogswell's patent is "to furnish improved folding seats or settees for schoolrooms and other public places, which shall be so constructed that they may be folded so compactly that they will occupy no more space than the breadth of the side frames or standards, and which shall be simple in construction and convenient in use." (Patent Number 187,817)
