Description
The objective of Cowley's patent "is to so construct a carrier that is it impossible to insert the carrier into the pneumatic-despatch tube until the cover is closed and locked to the body of the carrier and also after the cover is closed and locked to the carrier and the carrier is inserted in the tube it will be impossible for the cover to become unlocked and open while the carrier is in the tube and in transit." (Patent Number 648,853)
