Description
Heyl's patent is for "a new and useful Invention for Securing a Shoe to the Hoof of a Horse..." This method consists of "fixing the shoe to the hoof by means of the connection, the jaws of the latter should be opened apart as far as possible, and the hoof introduced between them." (Patent Number 80,074)
