Description
Wappich's patent "relates to the attachment and securing of rudders to ships and other vessels; and it consists in providing the stern part of vessels with certain braces, hinge-cockets, and steps or their equivalents in addition to the braces, hinge-sockets, steps, or their equivalents as ordinarily used, and which reserve braces and pintles will be used should the first-used set become worn out or otherwise rendered inoperative."
