Mignon and Rouart's patent provides a "means for producing the exhaustion or compression of air, dispensing at the same time with the employment of machines commonly employed for this purpose; and our invention relates particularly to those machines constructed for the transmission of dispatches or other objects through tubes." (Patent Number 63,075)
