Description
John Condell and his son Archelaus's patent's objective was "to produce activity of the child; and afford amusement, as a stimulus thereto, and at the same time produce a cheap and desirable article as a child's toy." (Patent Number 86,814)

The Condells were in the business of manufacturing artificial arms and legs in New York City.
