Description
Roberts' patent is an improved twister that "consists of a short revolving tube, D, through which the roving, x, passes longitudinally, provided, at its lower or delivering-end with two hollow 'cone-points,' ff, which spring together, in the line of the axis of the tube, and pinch the roving sufficiently to twist it, and at the same time allow the thread to be drawn along with a steady and even motion." (Patent Number 89,170)
