Description
Phipps's patent is a "new and useful Improvements in Door-Knobs" and "it consists in the construction and arrangement of parts" which is simple and secure with "no outward evidence of its construction being discernible. It may be fitted to doors of different thicknesses with great facility, as the sleeves may be locked on different points of the inclines." (Patent Number 289,305)
