Description
Thurmond's patent "relates to wash-boiler fountains; and it consists in the novel construction of its parts..." By making the body of his "fountain of glass it will absorb heat and rapidly rarefy the water and steam entering the chamber A, which will therefore ascent the tube B and pour out upon the clothes in the boiler. The current thus produced, forcing the heated soapy water through the clothes, rapidly cleanses them without the harsh treatment of rubbing or pounding." (Patent Number 295,462)
