Description
Darrow and Peck's patent has for its objective "to produce a cheaper and more durable article. The expensiveness and irksomeness of working the various kinds of material and compositions, together with their perishable or fragile nature, have induced the effort to produce a cheaper and more durable material." The nature of this improvement consists in the substitution of rawhide for, or in place, of those substances now used in the manufacture of toys or dolls..." (Patent Number 52,142)
