Description
Starr's patent is an Improvement "in Dental-Engine Hand-Pieces and Operating Tools" and is an improvement on a patent application he filed on July 29, 1880. The objective "is to provide an improved hand-piece in which all wear of the tool-holder and bearings may be readily compensated for or taken up by adjustment, and which the operating-tool may be held and driven steadily and positively, avoiding all rattling movement or vibration between the tool and its rotating holder." (Patent Number 233,709)
