Description
Carnes' patent relates to certain improvements of her previous patent number 269,006 dated December 12, 1882. The invention "consists in attaching the clasp-spring of the holder to the under side of the pad in such manner that the pad will be free to open out away from the handle of the iron when the hand of the user is removed, thus admitting circulation of air to the under side of the pad for keeping it cool." (Patent Number 294,196)
