Description
Thomas and Louisa Beebe's patent "has relation to means for holding sheet-music, and allowing the player to turn the sheets one at a time without interfering with the performance; it consists of a horizontally-sliding rack-plate constructed with several tiers of teeth on its front side, adapted to actuate the leaf-turning arms, in combination with ratchet-teeth on the back of said plate, and with a spring-lever for moving the plate when it is desired to turn a leaf..."
